Update May 21, 2015

May 21, 2015 10:17 am

Hi all,

Please note that we will be closed Sunday & Monday, May 24-25, for Memorial Day.

Manufacturers have some good rebate/extra programs going this month that might interest you.  For example, Sig Sauer is offering a free pistol bag & 2 extra magazines with the purchase of any new Sig Sauer pistol (including their 1911 line).  For an even better deal, we are offering $50 off the Sig P229 Enhanced Elite pistol in .40 S&W.

Daniel Defense is offering a $125 credit on their site for any new rifle you buy through a retailer.  The credit can be used towards any DD accessories that you may like.  Also, we are offering $200 off any DDM4V9 rifle in stock!

We managed to procure a Noveske Infidel rifle, priced at $2999.95.  We have seen these sell for much more online.

If your taste runs more to the rimfire AR rifle, we have Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22 rifles in stock, complete with Remington “Bucket O Bullets” (that’s 1400 rounds!) for $619.95

If you like high end 1911 pistols, we have the Springfield TRP model in stock, priced at $1639.95

On the other hand, if you are in the market for an affordable 1911, we have some Rock Island Armory pistols, starting at $519.95

Revolver fans will be happy that we finally have some Ruger GP100 and SP101 revolvers back in stock, priced from $619.95 through $699.95

You asked for it, and we finally got a shipment of Springfield XD-9 pistols in, priced at $479.95

How are you going to feed all those new guns?  We have cases of 9mm, .40S&W, and .45acp in stock and on sale!

And lastly, we have Aero Precision AR-15 stripped lowers coming in, priced at $79.95 for 5.56, and $224.95 for .308

It can pay to stop by the shop often – as we mentioned last week, we had a number of consignment guns come through recently.  Many were sold the instant they went out for sale, which means they never made it into the newsletter.  These included several Colt Python revolvers, a “Broomhandle” Mauser, and some really nice Italian shotguns.  We can’t predict when these guns will come in, but we do have several customers who stop by frequently just to see what’s new.  A word to the wise!

Just a friendly reminder to keep your eyes on our Facebook & Twitter posts!  If you are looking for a certain rifle, pistol or shotgun, or ammo, following us on social media gets you the fastest information on what we have in stock.  There are buttons on our website for Facebook & Twitter to make it as easy as possible.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.  If there is anything you would like to see in this newsletter, drop us a line and let us know!

And now on to the news:

There is a renewed push to restrict ammunition purchases.  Sadly, Steve Glazer, our Senator-elect, agrees with this:

Think you know a lot about America?  Why is July 2nd so important?  When did Ohio get admitted to the union?

We get asked frequently about travelling throughout the US with firearms.  Here is a good guide:

If you are tired of all the anti-gun legislation, then vote!  It is now easier than ever to register, and you can be a permanent vote-by-mail constituent.  If we all stick together, we can easily fight back!

The Armed Citizen

It has been said (repeatedly) that armed citizens repel over 2,000 attacks EACH DAY, and that most go unreported.  Here are a few that did get reported:

Training update

Do you know someone who is new to the shooting sport, and needs training?  There is an excellent course being taught each month by Bill Tidwell, at the Livermore Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club.  This is an all-day course that covers everything for the new shooter, including how firearms work, safety, cleaning, purchasing, and the fundamentals of marksmanship.  There are separate courses for Pistol and Shotgun.  The Pistol course is taught the first Saturday of each month, and the shotgun course is taught the next day.  For more information, and to sign up for a class, visit www.train2besafe.com

The next 35-state CCW course will be held on  Sunday, July 19th,  from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. The $150 course fee includes all the required training, plus photos, notarized document, and fingerprinting required for your Utah non-resident CCW, plus the required training & photo needed for your Florida non-resident CCW. Sign up at http://www.alphasafetytraining.net/ Please note that this course now qualifies you for an Arizona permit, however, the Arizona permit is no longer honored in Nevada.  One could start a career tracking what CCWs are honored in what states!

The next reloading class will be held on a future Saturday, to be announced, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.  The $80 course fee covers all materials needed for the class.  You will receive hands-on training with an RCBS rock chucker single-stage press as well as a Dillon progressive press.  Lecture topics include precision reloading for the long-range rifle shooter as well as high-volume reloading for pistol & action shooters.  Secure your place in the course by prepaying (cash only, please) at the shop.

If you no longer wish to receive this email newsletter, simply follow the link at the bottom of this email to remove yourself from the list.  If you are reading this on Facebook, you can subscribe to the newsletter by entering your email address at  http://www.jrguns.com/  You can also read this blog directly on our website www.jrguns.com

That’s about it for this week. As always, thank you for your business.
