Update May 13, 2015

May 14, 2015 10:30 am

Hi all,

Several of you in the LE community have been waiting for the new Glock 43 single-stack 9mm pistol to arrive.  We have now filled our pre-orders, and we have inventory for sale.  Again, this is an LE-only gun since it’s not on the CA roster.  Our price is $390 plus tax & registration.

Speaking of cool pistols, we have a semi-rare Springfield Armory EMP pistol, priced at $1224.95

Also by Springfield is an MC Operator .45 priced at $1289.95

You HK fans might like our UPS 9 Compact at $979.95 or our USP 45 at the same price

We have just one Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 for $729.95

Do you want a lever-action varmint rifle?  You can’t do much better than the Henry H001V, at $509.95

Several people have been asking for the Ruger 10/22 Target model, which is now in stock at $474.95

We have the rare-as-hens-teeth Daniel Defense V11SLW in stock.  Our price is $1659.95

Many of us have a particular fondness for the Noveske NSR rail system for ARs, and we now have them in stock.

It can pay to stop by the shop often – as we mentioned last week, we had a number of consignment guns come through recently.  Many were sold the instant they went out for sale, which means they never made it into the newsletter.  These included several Colt Python revolvers, a “Broomhandle” Mauser, and some really nice Italian shotguns.  We can’t predict when these guns will come in, but we do have several customers who stop by frequently just to see what’s new.  A word to the wise!

Just a friendly reminder to keep your eyes on our Facebook & Twitter posts!  If you are looking for a certain rifle, pistol or shotgun, or ammo, following us on social media gets you the fastest information on what we have in stock.  There are buttons on our website for Facebook & Twitter to make it as easy as possible.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.  If there is anything you would like to see in this newsletter, drop us a line and let us know!

And now on to the news:

Have you been thinking about so-called “smart” guns?  Here’s a short article to catch you up:

We get asked a lot about how to travel by airplane, with guns.  The TSA has responded to several such requests:

Congressman Rogers of Alabama would like to have the CMP sell 100,000 1911 pistols to civilians:

Of course, the Huffington Post published an article saying that this would put 100,000 untraceable guns on our streets.  It’s really too bad that they didn’t even do any research for their article!

If you are tired of all the anti-gun legislation, then vote!  It is now easier than ever to register, and you can be a permanent vote-by-mail constituent.  If we all stick together, we can easily fight back!

The Armed Citizen

It has been said (repeatedly) that armed citizens repel over 2,000 attacks EACH DAY, and that most go unreported.  Here are a few that did get reported:

Training update

Do you know someone who is new to the shooting sport, and needs training?  There is an excellent course being taught each month by Bill Tidwell, at the Livermore Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club.  This is an all-day course that covers everything for the new shooter, including how firearms work, safety, cleaning, purchasing, and the fundamentals of marksmanship.  There are separate courses for Pistol and Shotgun.  The Pistol course is taught the first Saturday of each month, and the shotgun course is taught the next day.  For more information, and to sign up for a class, visit www.train2besafe.com

The next 35-state CCW course will be held on  Sunday, May 17th,  from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. The $150 course fee includes all the required training, plus photos, notarized document, and fingerprinting required for your Utah non-resident CCW, plus the required training & photo needed for your Florida non-resident CCW. Sign up at http://www.alphasafetytraining.net/ Please note that this course now qualifies you for an Arizona permit, however, the Arizona permit is no longer honored in Nevada.  One could start a career tracking what CCWs are honored in what states!

The next reloading class will be held on a future Saturday, to be announced, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.  The $80 course fee covers all materials needed for the class.  You will receive hands-on training with an RCBS rock chucker single-stage press as well as a Dillon progressive press.  Lecture topics include precision reloading for the long-range rifle shooter as well as high-volume reloading for pistol & action shooters.  Secure your place in the course by prepaying (cash only, please) at the shop.

If you no longer wish to receive this email newsletter, simply follow the link at the bottom of this email to remove yourself from the list.  If you are reading this on Facebook, you can subscribe to the newsletter by entering your email address at  http://www.jrguns.com/  You can also read this blog directly on our website www.jrguns.com
