And now on to the news:
For those that argue for long waiting periods to buy a gun, read this:
If you haven’t heard all the buzz about the new “Unified Agenda” you haven’t been paying attention lately. The net is abuzz with rumors, vituperations, and conspiracy theories. Here’s a good look at what is going on:
More gun control nonsense courtesy of our elected officials. Sadly, it’s also potentially deadly.
No link here, but I am saddened to report that the US Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal on the SF law banning “expanding or fragmenting ammo” and requiring that guns be locked in the home. So, the laws are currently valid. Next we wait for the lawsuits. Imagine you are shot because the good guy was not allowed to use defensive ammo, and the round overpenetrated? That’s pretty much a guarantee with non-expanding ammo. Or, you are struggling to get your gun unlocked in a home invasion, and the bad guy overtakes you. Bad guy wins and gets your gun. SF strikes again! It seems clear to me that SF doesn’t begin to care how may innocents die in this fight. They have an agenda that they will follow regardless of the consequences.
On a related note, NY Governor Cuomo is on record stating that the SAFER act is saving lives. Why is it then that subway assault felonies are up 27%?
We get asked frequently about travelling throughout the US with firearms. Here is a good guide:
If you own a Remington 700 with the XMark Pro trigger, it has been recalled:
If you are tired of all the anti-gun legislation, then vote! It is now easier than ever to register, and you can be a permanent vote-by-mail constituent. If we all stick together, we can easily fight back!
The Armed Citizen
It has been said (repeatedly) that armed citizens repel over 2,000 attacks EACH DAY, and that most go unreported. Here are a few that did get reported:
CCW Good Samaritan 1, Carjacker 0:
Car owner 1, assailant 0:

Do you know someone who is new to the shooting sport, and needs training? There is an excellent course being taught each month by Bill Tidwell, at the Livermore Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club. This is an all-day course that covers everything for the new shooter, including how firearms work, safety, cleaning, purchasing, and the fundamentals of marksmanship. There are separate courses for Pistol and Shotgun. The Pistol course is taught the first Saturday of each month, and the shotgun course is taught the next day. For more information, and to sign up for a class, visit www.train2besafe.com
The next 35-state CCW course will be held on Sunday, July 19th, from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. The $150 course fee includes all the required training, plus photos, notarized document, and fingerprinting required for your Utah non-resident CCW, plus the required training & photo needed for your Florida non-resident CCW. Sign up at http://www.alphasafetytraining.net/ Please note that this course now qualifies you for an Arizona permit, however, the Arizona permit is no longer honored in Nevada. One could start a career tracking what CCWs are honored in what states!
The next reloading class will be held on Saturday, June 27, from 10am till 4:00 pm. The $80 course fee covers all materials needed for the class. You will receive hands-on training with an RCBS rock chucker single-stage press as well as a Dillon progressive press. Lecture topics include precision reloading for the long-range rifle shooter as well as high-volume reloading for pistol & action shooters. Secure your place in the course by prepaying (cash only, please) at the shop; prepayment guarantees you a spot in the course.
The Pleasanton/Livermore Friends of the NRA dinner is coming soon – August 1 starting at 5:30pm. Prepare yourself for a really good time, with some really good people, for a really good cause. Really! Advance ticket sales only – no tickets at the door. Here’s the website to secure your attendance:
