April 15, 2015 12:04 pm

Hi all,

Happy tax day!  We are currently reading an excellent book on economics titled “Popular Economics” by John Tamny.  In the book, he refers to payroll taxes as a “penalty for doing work” and we couldn’t agree more.  While the government takes away, we’re trying to give you some great deals, and some opportunities.  So here goes:

We recently got a large shipment from CZ, so we now have some very popular models back in stock.  F’rinstance:

Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail 1911, priced at $1729.95

Dan Wesson Pointman 7 1911 $1729.95

CZ 712 shotgun $504.95

CZ Mallard shotgun $584.95

We also have a fairly rare Beretta 92GSD priced at $1279.95, and a regular 92FS Inox (bright finish) priced at $876.95

If revolvers are your thing, we have a Ladysmith 642 priced at $479.95

If you are wanting to build your own .308 AR, we have Spikes Tactical .308 stripped lowers priced at $249.95

We also have Saiga 12 shotguns back in stock; call for pricing.

Just a friendly reminder to keep your eyes on our Facebook & Twitter posts!  If you are looking for a certain rifle, pistol or shotgun, or ammo, following us on social media gets you the fastest information on what we have in stock.  There are buttons on our website for Facebook & Twitter to make it as easy as possible.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.  If there is anything you would like to see in this newsletter, drop us a line and let us know!

And now on to the news:

This article explains California’s lead ban quite nicely:

The Episcopal Church tried to strong-arm Walmart into restricting gun and gun accessory sales.  They lost in court:

The next president could very well reshape the Supreme Court.  Please keep that in mind when you vote!

As we have been telling you all along, the Peruta concealed-carry case is a long way away from being settled.  The case will likely go to the US Supreme Court after the en banc appeal.

If you are tired of all the anti-gun legislation, then vote!  It is now easier than ever to register, and you can be a permanent vote-by-mail constituent.  If we all stick together, we can easily fight back!

The Armed Citizen

It has been said (repeatedly) that armed citizens repel over 2,000 attacks EACH DAY, and that most go unreported.  Here are a few that did get reported:

Carjacker 0, Armed citizen 1:

Training update

Do you know someone who is new to the shooting sport, and needs training?  There is an excellent course being taught each month by Bill Tidwell, at the Livermore Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club.  This is an all-day course that covers everything for the new shooter, including how firearms work, safety, cleaning, purchasing, and the fundamentals of marksmanship.  There are separate courses for Pistol and Shotgun.  The Pistol course is taught the first Saturday of each month, and the shotgun course is taught the next day.  For more information, and to sign up for a class, visit www.train2besafe.com

The next 35-state CCW course will be held on  Sunday, May 17th,  from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. The $150 course fee includes all the required training, plus photos, notarized document, and fingerprinting required for your Utah non-resident CCW, plus the required training & photo needed for your Florida non-resident CCW. Sign up at http://www.alphasafetytraining.net/ Please note that this course now qualifies you for an Arizona permit, however, the Arizona permit is no longer honored in Nevada.  One could start a career tracking what CCWs are honored in what states!

The next reloading class will be held on a future Saturday, to be announced, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.  The $80 course fee covers all materials needed for the class.  You will receive hands-on training with an RCBS rock chucker single-stage press as well as a Dillon progressive press.  Lecture topics include precision reloading for the long-range rifle shooter as well as high-volume reloading for pistol & action shooters.  Secure your place in the course by prepaying (cash only, please) at the shop.
