Weekly Update April 25, 2014

April 25, 2014 6:17 pm

Hi all, For the first time in our (almost) seven year history, we are overstocked on some rifles.  We have to make room for more inventory, so we are cutting prices to the bone on some select AR rifles.  Due to contractual obligations, I can’t publicize which brands, nor can we quote prices over the phone.  You will have to come in to the shop, and mention this newsletter, to get the best pricing on in-stock AR rifles.  This inventory clearance sale is good while supplies last, and only applies to AR rifles that we have in stock.  No special orders.  If you have been sitting on the fence waiting for some event to spur you into buying your first (or next) AR, this is that event. Once again we have some Izmash Saiga Sporter rifles in stock, priced at $659.95.  These are essentially featureless AK rifles (no pistol grip, no flash hider, etc.), and they take the sporter style AK magazines.  They usually go pretty quickly. We still have a few Aero Precision 5.56 stripped lowers in stock, priced at $109.95. Also, we have CMMG .308 stripped lowers priced at $329.95. On the pistol front, we have the Smith & Wesson SW9VE pistol in 9mm priced at $399.95, and we have the H&K USP40 Compact pistol priced at $999.95.  We have a good supply of our normal stock of Glocks, Springfield Armory XDs, Berettas, etc. If you like commemorative rifles, you probably want to know that we are the... Weekly Update April 16, 2014

April 16, 2014 12:42 pm

Hi all, We have some new items in stock this week, and a couple of hard to get items as well.  First off, for those of you waiting for the last year (!) for extra magazines for your Smith & Wesson M&P pistol, we have a bunch in stock right now.  These were selling for $75 and up on eBay during the shortage, but we have in stock for $44.95 in both 9mm & .40S&W. The Ruger 10/22 takedown rifles that I mentioned last week arrived, and are priced to sell at $359.95 On the AR front, we have the new Daniel Defense DDM4V9 in both regular & lightweight barrel configurations, priced at $1679.95.  The V9 has the newest Daniel Defense rail that extends all the way to the flash hider.  This gives the rifle the look of an SBR even though it isn’t. We also have the latest instantiation of the Sig Sauer M400 AR rifle, with Carbon Fiber furniture.  This not only looks cool, it saves weight.  Carbon Fiber is expensive stuff, so the rifle aint cheap: $1899.95 if you want the latest and greatest look. Also in stock this week is the Primary Weapons Systems MK1 pistol, which includes the Sig Sauer SB-15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace, for $1949.95.  The PWS gas piston system is unmatched for reliability in the short pistol-length upper.  I’ve played with these pistols chambered in both 5.56 & 7.62X39, and they ran perfectly. Speaking of 7.62X39, we now have 10 round magazines for... View Article

Weekly Update April 9, 2014

April 9, 2014 5:03 pm

Hi all, Sorry for the lack of newsletters these last two weeks.  Our newsletter software quit working and we were unable to send out the newsletter.  If you are feeling withdrawal, you can always check out our blog version on our website www.jrguns.com/blog.  The blog is the basis for the weekly newsletter, and gets posted each week, usually Wednesday evening. It’s been a busy couple of weeks!  Thanks to Mark G. and other great customers, we started working with a new company, Phase 5 Tactical.  They manufacture a line of AR rifles, pistols, and parts that are innovative, well-engineered, and affordable.  Plus, their stuff makes your AR look good!  We placed a stocking order for parts, and also some of their AR pistols.  Yes, AR pistols.  These are CA legal pistols based on the AR platform.  So far we have sold out of our first two orders of them, but more are on the way.  The basic model includes a railed hand guard and sells for $1275.  You will need to add some form of sights (Magpul BUIS come to mind, or a nice red dot scope, or both), and a magazine to get a functional pistol. Speaking of AR pistols, we just received some Primary Weapons AR pistols chambered in .223 Wylde, which means they can chamber either .223 or 5.56 NATO rounds.  This pistols include Magpul BUIS sights, and both a foam sleeve for the buffer tube as well as the new Sig Sauer SB15 pistol brace.  The... Weekly Update March 5, 2014

March 5, 2014 4:50 pm

Hi all, We have so much new merchandise in stock this week, I hardly know where to start.  But that won’t stop me from trying… Springfield Armory sent us some really nice 1911 models in Stainless Steel.  We have the loaded model with all the highly-desired features, priced at $1034.95, and the Mil Spec model (again in Stainless) priced at $849.95. Our lot of Ed Brown 1911 pistols came and went.  In case you missed them, we have both Kobra Carry and Special Forces models coming in on another order soon.  If you have been saving your money for one, we should have them in stock in a week or so. We are still receiving a lot of Sig Sauer 1911 models, starting at $929.95.  All of these models have the “loaded” features like lightened hammer, beavertail, Dovetail sights, etc. Speaking of Sig Sauer, we have both of the P238 CA legal models in stock, starting at $639.95.  These are a great little pocket gun, chambered in .380 acp.  With Hornady Critical Defense or Hornady Critical Duty ammunition, the .380 has become a potent little round for self-defense. Let’s not forget the Sig p226 Scorpion model in 9mm.  This is the only CA-legal Scorpion in the Sig lineup, and it’s beautiful, plus it has the Sig Short Reset Trigger.  We don’t expect these to last long at $1105.95 Daniel Defense changed the furniture on their rifles this year to their own specific designs.  This has resulted in delayed shipments of their new rifles.  We... Weekly Update February 26, 2014

February 26, 2014 3:38 pm

Hi all, As so many of you have mentioned, we are having chronic problems with our phones.  We have been working with our phone provider, and have determined that the source of the problem is our ISP (Internet Service Provider).  Like so many companies, our phone service is reliant on our Internet service, and our Internet service has issues.  These issues result in dropped calls, no answers, and other problems that prevent you from reaching us.  Our choice of ISPs has been limited due to geography, but, there is hope on the horizon.  We have signed a contract with Comcast that will provide us with much more reliable internet service, which should solve our phone problems.  We have NOT been ignoring your phone calls.  Sadly, we just haven’t been receiving some of them. Daniel Defense changed the furniture on their rifles this year to their own specific designs.  This has resulted in delayed shipments of their new rifles.  We are happy to report that the rifles are now shipping, and we received our first batch yesterday.  The new furniture is really nice, functional, and overall very well designed. We have the new Sig P226 Scorpion and Extreme pistols in stock, both with the Sig SRT (Short Reset Trigger) installed.  If you don’t know what an SRT is, come by the shop for a demo.  It’s easy to show, but hard to explain in text. Our Sig Sauer Buy One Get One offer is still running.  While supplies last, buy a Sig Sauer 516 rifle for $1619.95 and get... View Article

Weekly Update February 19, 2014

February 19, 2014 5:25 pm

Hi all, Finally, some news on the Tac-Con 3MR triggers for your AR rifle.  After much poking and prodding, our triggers will ship by next Monday at the latest. That means that by the end of next week we should have our first shipment of triggers to fill existing orders.  In case you forgot what the triggers are all about, here is a quick link to a video demonstrating them:  http://www.thebangswitch.com/tac-con-3mr-trigger/ The Sig Sauer Buy One Get One offer was so successful that we are offering our own version.  While supplies last, buy a Sig Sauer 516 rifle and get a Savage Mark II .22lr rifle for free.  Because they are both rifles, you can put both on one DROS, so the second gun is really free.  The Sig rifle is the model 516 Gas Piston AR rifle chambered in 5.56, and the Savage rifle is a model Mark IIF, with an AccuTrigger, chambered in .22lr.  Both rifles are blued steel with synthetic furniture.  Again, sales are limited to quantity on hand, so if you snooze you lose! After receiving several requests for new targets, we purchased a new rack that holds many different types of targets, including the ever-popular zombie targets.  Stop by to check out our new selection. Our next lot of Ed Brown 1911 pistols will ship this week.  If you have been saving your money for one, we should have them in stock next week. As of this writing, we have target ammo in stock in the following calibers: 9mm,... View Article

Weekly Update February 12, 2014

February 12, 2014 10:00 pm

Hi all, This has been a very busy week.  There are some noteworthy events that I’ll try to cover in detail. First, the Sig Sauer “buy one get one” offer sold out almost immediately.  It was available to us starting last Thursday, and by 10:45 am all 10 packages had been sold.  I apologize to those of you who missed it, but we are in the process of developing a package of our own that you might find interesting.  More on that in a future update. We recently tried to re-order Ballistol and were given the following reply by our sales rep: …because of CA Air Resources Board standards, we will not send Ballistol at this time to CA.  Ballistol does not comply with these standards.  Ballistol liquid just needs a label revision to comply.  Ballistol aerosol needs to reduce the VOC % + a label revision to comply.  Hopefully, Ballistol liquid will be available in CA soon. Thus ends Ballistol aerosol in CA, following the untimely demise of most Birchwood Casey products for the same reason.  Hopefully we will at least see Ballistol liquid return soon. Despite our predictions that the zombie craze would end in 2013, demand for zombie merchandise is still quite strong.  Accordingly, we purchased several new types of paper targets at the Shot Show this year, including new zombie targets.  Get ’em while you can! Speaking of the Shot Show, our Black Hills order from last year’s show continues to arrive.  We will have cases of their... View Article
